Set up
A quiet space, a charged device and a stable connection. Check the camera and microphone before the lesson.
Tell the tutor what matters
Share the topic, upcoming tests and what your child finds hard. A tutor who knows this can go straight to the problem.
Have materials ready
Textbook, homework, paper and a pen. For maths, working on paper that the tutor can see is far more useful than answers alone.
Afterwards
Ask your child to explain one thing they learned. Explaining it back is a good check that it has stuck.
