Before the first lesson
- Read the tutor’s profile and reviews.
- Check that what they say about experience matches what they tell you.
- Agree the lesson time, price and cancellation terms in writing on the platform.
Keep it on the platform
Bookings, messages and payment in one place give you a record if anything needs to be reviewed.
During lessons
- Be nearby for younger children, or look in on the first lessons.
- Make sure your child uses a shared space rather than a bedroom where practical.
- Agree with your child that they can tell you anything that feels odd.
Warning signs
Pressure to move conversations or payments off the platform, requests for personal details, or secrecy about lessons are reasons to stop and report.
If something feels wrong
End the lesson, talk to your child, and report it to the platform. If you think a child may be at risk, contact your local safeguarding authority.
